Van Riemsyk, Blackhawks Agree On 2-Year Extension

Trevor van Riemsdyk has signed a two-year extension with the Chicago Blackhawks. The 23-year-old defenseman went under the knife twice last season but was one of the surprises in the team's run to the Stanley Cup title. The league's official website confirmed the signing while ESPN reported the two-year deal is worth $1.65 million. In his first season in the NHL, van Riemsdyk played 18 games in the regular season and four games in the postseason.
